Band camp is Aug 1 through Aug 6, from 10am-9pm. On day 1, students check in at their class table and turn in their first payment (band = $175, guard = $200) and the Member Contact Info form. Please type in your info (using Acrobat Reader) and print the form, or print the blank form and write clearly!
Students should wear comfortable clothing (no jeans), athletic shoes, sun block, and maybe a hat. They also need a large thermos of water.
Students have an hour for lunch at 1pm and an hour for dinner at 5pm, so please be sure they bring a healthy lunch and dinner. Band members will learn how to march, how to march and play, how to move in patterns, and they will be hungry! Many students bring lunch with them in the morning and then parents bring dinner to them at 5pm. Some families choose a day to stay and have dinner with their student. These are long days!
Band camp ends on Saturday August 6 with a free BBQ and performance for band and guard members and their families. The BBQ begins at 5pm and the performance begins after dinner for the students to show off the skills they have developed in just a week. Please plan to join us for dinner and a great performance to support your student. You are their favorite audience! The BBQ is a great time to meet other families and learn about the program. You can chat with your class rep and ask any questions you might have. We’ll have information about the different committees that provide essential support to the students all year. These committees need your help: Uniform, Hospitality, Fundraising, Truck & Pit Crew, and Equipment & Props.
