About The Oak Grove High School Marching Band and Colorguard

We have an active and supportive Booster Organization and invite you to join us. Oak Grove High School Band Boosters (OGBB) is a nonprofit group organized for the sole purpose of supporting ALL band programs at Oak Grove High School.

 

For more than three decades, the Oak Grove Band Boosters have been supporting the music and guard programs at Oak Grove High School in San Jose California. The students who are involved in these programs develop lifelong skills and friendships. The Marching Band and Guard programs at Oak Grove are considered one of the finest in the state.

 

The boosters exist to enhance the support that the program receives through the school district. Booster activities provide necessary funds, volunteers, and equipment to assist the band and guard directors.

 

The various Band Programs in which your student can participate are:
Color Guard, Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz A, and Jazz B.

 

OGBB is currently funded through Donations and Fundraising. These monies pay for some of the additional costs incurred for band/music programs not covered by the East Side Union High School District.

 

Your donation helps fund the these items and events:

• Expanded Music Selections for Symphonic, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Bands

• Clinics for Symphonic, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Jazz Bands

• Uniform alterations, dry-cleaning, and repairs for concert and marching uniforms

• Assistant Instruction– Color Guard, Drum Line and Pit, and Drum Majors

• Miscellaneous supplies for Symphonic, Wind Ensemble, Jazz, and Marching bands

• Transportation of equipment/uniforms – truck rental, fuel, and insurance for all competitions

• Music and Field Design program costs for the Color Guard and Marching Band

• Competition fees for Symphonic, Wind, Jazz, and Marching Bands

• Supplies for instrument care and repair – percussion carts, tie down straps, equipment covers, replacement wheels, etc

• Supplies for Competitions – first aid etc.

• Supplies for auxiliary units – Color Guard, Percussion, Drum Majors

• Awards and Recognitions

• Scholarships for students

• Food for most away shows and other events throughout the year

 

Oak Grove Band Boosters Fundraising has made possible these recent accomplishments:

• Top Northern California Marching Band in the Western Band Association for 8 of the last 11 years in our division

• Top 15 overall regardless of size in the Western Band Association at State Championships 15 of the past 19 years

• Seven-time California Colorguard Circuit Champions: four times Open Class, one time Scholastic A, and one time Independent A
